There are multiple types of hair extensions on the market, some can be installed at home, while others need professional assistance. Clip-in and tape-in Russian keratin extensions are types of hair extensions commonly used to add length, volume, and versatility to natural hair. There are a lot of types of hair extensions for different hair types, lengths, and how they are inserted into the hair.

Here’s a brief explanation of each type:

Clip In Russian Keratin Extensions:

Clip-in extensions consist of individual wefts of hair that are attached to small clips. These clips can be easily attached and removed from your own hair without the help of a professional stylist. Clip-in extensions are a temporary solution, allowing you to conveniently change your hairstyle for special occasions or everyday wear.

Clip-in hair extensions can last up to 2 years with the correct care and good quality hair. If you wear these extensions occasionally, they can last from nine to 12 months or  even longer with proper care. To prolong their life span, make sure to always wash your clip hair extensions with sulfate-free and alcohol-free products.

Tape In Russian Keratin Extensions:

Tape-in extensions involve attaching wefts of hair to your natural hair using adhesive tape. This method provides a more semi-permanent solution, as the extensions can typically stay in place for several weeks before needing to be readjusted or replaced. Tape-in extensions offer a more natural look and allow for easier styling.

Russian Keratin Extensions:

Russian Keratin Extensions refers to the type of keratin used to bond hair extensions. Keratin is a protein that is similar to the natural protein found in our hair. It helps to provide a strong and durable bond between the extensions and your natural hair.

Keratin bonded extensions last the longest in the hair and are favoured by celebrities for their longevity and discretion. The average recommended wear is 3 months/12 weeks but some clients have a new set every 2 months whilst others last their extensions 5 or 6 months.

It’s important to note that the application of these extensions requires some skill and experience. It is recommended to consult with a professional hairstylist who specializes in hair extensions to ensure proper application and maintenance.
